Story Walk Comes to New Carlisle Multi-Purpose Trail

On Saturday (August 28, 2021), the New Carlisle Library held a ribbon cutting to the new Tecumseh Trail Story Walk.

The story walk is a series of about 25 story boards, each one displaying a different page of a children's book. The first book displayed is "Dragons Love Tacos" by Adam Rubin.

New Carlisle Mayor Mike Lowry assists local children in cutting the ribbon to the new Story Walk. Also pictured are (L-R) County Commissioner Lowell McGlothin, New Carlisle Vice Mayor Bill Cook, City Council members Dan Rodewald, Peggy Eggleston and Linda Eggleston Nowakowski, Library Director Beth Freeman and Rotary Club President Cindy Gracy.

By walking the approximately one-quarter mile story walk, children will be able to read the entire book. The story walk begins at the Smith Park Shelter House and ends near the small shelter.

The story boards were purchased by the Library with assistance from the New Carlisle Rotary Club. The boards were installed by the City of New Carlisle.

The books featured on the Story Walk will be changed periodically by the Library.
